The Period Purse creates menstrual equity by ensuring sustainable access to period products for all, and by ending the stigma associated with periods through education and advocacy.
The Period Purse respects your right to privacy
Your privacy and security are important to us. The Period Purse respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us. We use the information collected through our website to facilitate donation collection and processing, to provide tax receipts, to process online account registrations and to communicate relevant news and updates.

1. What is the purpose of this Privacy Notice?
The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to inform users of our website along with donors, volunteers, community partners of the following:

The rights of Site users.
The Period Purse’s app, Menstruation Nation, users please refer to the privacy notice in the app.
This Privacy Notice applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site. This is a public document.
3. How does The Period Purse use my personal information?
a) To use for tax purposes: Data collected from our donors are used for tax purposes (requirements set out by CRA tax regulations for charities), and we only keep it as long as necessary. We will not use your data beyond what we disclose in this Privacy Notice.
b) To keep you updated: Through our e-newsletters, we keep our community up to date on relevant news, upcoming events, information, etc. If you wish to unsubscribe, just click the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of every newsletter or send us an email at hello@theperiodpurse.com and we will stop sending you emails.
c) To process online registration of in-person/ virtual events.
d) For minors: Occasionally, we may collect the personal information of minors, as appropriate, for instance, as volunteers. In certain circumstances, we request the consent of a parent or guardian of that minor child to collect that information.
4. Who does The Period Purse share my personal data with?
The Period Purse uses some tools, service providers, apps, and services to help us manage our organization: things like managing client interactions, communicating with you, and the other activities described above. If these tools are provided by third parties, we make sure the third parties are not allowed to access your personal information, copy it, or use it for any purpose other than to deliver the service to us and your data is erased by third parties when they have completed the service.
We will not sell or share your data with other third parties, except in the following cases:
If the law requires it;
If it is required for any legal proceeding;
To prove or protect our legal rights;
If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another Site, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.
5. How long does The Period Purse store personal data?
User data will be stored until the purpose the data was collected for has been achieved. Tax receipts will be kept for seven (7) years, as per CRA guidelines.
6. How does The Period Purse protect my personal data?
All data is only accessible to selected employees. Our employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and a breach of this agreement would result in the employee's termination.
While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.
