Our Campaigns - The Period Purse

Public Awareness & Advocacy Campaigns

Our campaigns confront period stigma and period poverty by raising awareness, amplifying stories, and mobilizing communities. We turn visibility into advocacy, empowering people to push for menstrual equity.

Eliminate Period Poverty

Period poverty exists in every community across Canada. In 2025, we launched a national ad campaign to raise awareness about who it affects, why it persists, and what we can do to ensure everyone has access to the period products they need.

Outcomes:

Billboards and restaurant bathroom ads are live nationwide, driving people to learn more about period poverty.

Menstrual Health Day

Each May 28, we join communities across Canada to mark Menstrual Health Day through awareness activities, education, and calls for better access to period products.

Outcomes:

These campaigns help normalize conversations about periods and inspire concrete action towards a period-friendly Canada.

Inclusive Period Education

We believe everyone has the right to learn about periods and to understand how menstruation affects the body. We’re currently examining how periods are taught in schools across the country. Our goal is to identify gaps in curriculum and community education, then work with teachers and schools to promote inclusive, accurate, and accessible menstrual education for all.

Outcomes:

We aim to use this work to inform future resources and advocacy around inclusive period education.
